In Yamato-cho, Saga City, Saga Prefecture you will find Nao Tesuki Washi. Founded in 1876, they carry out all the processes for making washi paper including the cultivation of the Kaji tree, one of the raw materials. I bought a beautiful sheet of paper containing saffron flowers (サフラン). After a month of looking at the paper, so perfect as is it was, I knew what to make out of it!
